Dingdong Dantes delivered in the pilot episode of this much publicized soap opera of GMA 7. The role fits him to a T. Or should I say, Dingdong fitted himself to the role to a T! The latter sounds better, right? It gives credit to Mr. Dantes' discipline and dedication to improve further his craft.
Marian Rivera surely looks sexy on television. Her acting she has to hone. She needs to be consistent playing the mysterious Proserfina. In scenes requiring her to be playful, her acting is hohum. She needs to pepper it with mystery. She needs to deliver her scenes in a manner that is compelling, consistent and engaging that the audience would not want to blink. . .just like when Dindong is onscreen. Or better yet, just like her Marimar days.
If Marian fails to deliver her role, the show will crumble in the ratings game, her role being the focal point of the story. Her acting is almost the same in every character she played, which are definitely different from one another. Watching her struggle with the role of Proserpina, I wished Iza Calzado got the role. She could have given justice to the character.
