Talks are ripe that our own Cardinal Tagle is a strong contender to be the next Pope. A possibility that makes every Filipino looks forward to with pride and honor, but also with anxiety. For with this comes a responsibility to every Catholic and Christian followers to walk the talk.
Cardinal Tagle talks about clearing the Roman Catholic Church with pedophiles thereby encouraging reports rather hiding it. A courageous move.
If there is one thing more that Cardinal Tagle should look into is the politicized faith. The priests should focus more in building and nourishing the Christian faith in every Filipino. Religion is innate and spiritual. Governance and political activities is an outward manifestation of what is in the hearts of our leaders. When priests criticize the government, much more criticism points back to it.
The Church and the Government are both pillars of this society. The moment both goes into mudslinging, the people are lost... Hence, they should support one another and argue in private.
This country will be better off with less quarrels and negative news.
