What were they thinking when they submitted the initial photo?

I was taken aback when I saw this "ugly" photo of our representative in the Miss Universe website. The new photo is not equally impressive but a much improved submission than the first one.

Ms. Ariella Arida, fondly called Ara, looks much better than these photos. Binibining Pilipinas should get that one look that is all at once eye-catcher, captivating and interesting. After all, there is a bevy of beauties and every contestant will try their very best to stand-out.

For the meantime, here are some photos that do justice to our representative.

Ara has the facial contour that can be styled to achieve the different looks. Her make-up artist need to be more careful on the eyeliner - which spells the difference between looking gorgeous or looking ugly.

She certainly looks better with minimal make-up. Her relax mood brings out her natural beauty.

She can look alluring, intelligent and interesting all at the same time. But aside from the eyeliner thing and the eyebrow too, Ara needs to carry her head in a more regal way. From the look of the different photos, she looks best when she is relaxed. Cultivate that inner glow, bring out the beauty that needs no crown to be recognized.
