Philippine Senate: An Investigative Body

Senator Antonio Trillanes is calling the shots in the Philippine Senate. And Senate President Franklin Drilon is drifting with his issues and investigations.

The Philippine Senate has been in a bubble for quiet a long time now. Insensitive to the critical issues threatening our country's sovereignty.  The once revered legislative body has become a launching pad of political ambitions via issues hurled against political foes and conducting investigations with media coverage for extra media mileage.

Used to soap operas, the people are carried away by the issues. Political propagandists are too focused on 2016, missing the possibility that the Philippines might be in another scenario instead of the expected 2016 election.

The Filipinos are anxious. The Philippine territory is being marginalized by the aggressive reclamation and construction activities of China. Malaysia is suspected of being behind the Bangsamoro Basic Law passage which is being feared to become the launching pad for the clamor for secession of Muslim Filipinos. The analysis loudly whispered is that China is getting a part of the Philippines via reclamation while Malaysia via peace process.

Yet, the Philippine Senate is bent on conducting another investigation on the CA justices. Is the family at the hot seat  far more important the this country? and ALL Filipinos as well? Can't this job be given to appropriate government agencies like DOJ, Ombudsman to do the investigation and file the appropriate charges when evidences are sufficient?

The highest legislative body of this country has become a mere investigative body.
Poor Philippines, Pity to us Filipinos.
Our fishermen cannot claim our seas, and our government is about to give the biggest dole out of TAXPAYERS money via BBL.

Quo Vadis Philippines?

Just an after thought, what could have been the agenda of Senator Trillanes when he secretly meet with Chinese authorities? What was discussed? Was there a negotiation?

Is the string of issues the decoy to distract the government and make a bunch of fools among our honorables?

Just asking.
