Driver's License by Ms. Olivia Rodrigo

Image
See Official Video in YouTube: Okey, okey, She is of Filipino descent. The new toast in Apple Music and Spotify and with more than 18 million views on YouTube with her new single, Ms. Olivia Rodrigo is a Filipina-American. Born in the US, particulary in California. Her father is a Filipino-American whose grandfather was an immigrant from the Philippines. Her mother is an American with Irish and German descent. I thought she looked like AOC Alexandra Ocasio Cortez, New York's Representative. Anyway, Cheers to Ms. Olivia Rodrigo , your great grandfather would certainly have been truly proud.

Jessica reminds me of a Filipino singer, Ella May Saison who popularized the song "Till My Heartaches End" . She is now based in the U.S. Not only are they both powerful singers, one may find a resemblance on their looks too.

Tips for Pinoy Henyo

Image
Eat Bulaga's Pinoy Henyo segment had become a staple among Filipinos. Lunch breaks are not complete without it. What's most entertaining are the contestants themselves. They can sometimes be hilarious, intellectually satisfying, boring at times and irritating oftentimes:) Despite all that,Pinoy Henyo is here to stay. The show is a test of common sense, focus, stock knowledge, calm and quick thinking all rolled into one. Here are some overheard tips gathered from the critics to get the answer: 1. Both players should refrain from shrieking . (Dentures falling out aren't for national television:) Seriously, its distracting. 2. Listen and Discern despite being excited. (Hindi at Pwede are different things, it can make or unbreak your luck) 3. Be sensitive to the cues of your partner, the things unsaid can be dead giveaways. 4. Lastly, here is the guide to asking questions: This may not be comprehensive, but this will get you closer to the answer. The re...

Janella Lelis, protects the Philippine Flag

Image
Much had been said about Janella Lelis, the girl from Albay who protected our Philippine Flag from Typhoon Juaning. While some points out that there is is nothing great in this as she did this per instruction from his elder brother, many find this patriotic still. Well, for one thing, she did the errand under an extraordinary circumstance - a raging storm, of which ordinarily, other children would have begged off. So I believe she deserves the credit. It can be glimpsed from the photo that the child was holding on tightly to the pole, where the flag was attached, for balance as she made her way home. It is but fitting then that she receive recognition from the National Historical Institute and a possible scholarship from PNoy.

Jose Rizal: My Last Farewell

Image
(English Translation, My Last Farewell (translation adapted from one by Edwin Lozada) "Farewell, beloved Country, treasured region of the sun, Pearl of the sea of the Orient, our vanquished Eden! To you I gladly surrender this melancholy life; And were it brighter, fresher, gaudier, Even then I’d give it to you, to you alone would then I give. In fields of battle, deliriously fighting, Others give you their lives, without doubt, without regret; Where there’s cypress, laurel or lily, On a plank or open field, in combat or cruel martyrdom, If the home or country asks, it's all the same--it matters not. I die when I see the sky unfurls its colors And at last after a cloak of darkness announces the day; If you need scarlet to tint your dawn, Paint with my blood, pour it as the moment comes, And may it be gilded by a reflection of the heaven’s new-born light. My dreams, even as a child, My dreams, when a young man in the prime of life, Were to see you one day...
